Implementation of Schemes for Women and Children
The Ministry of Women and Child Development together with the State Governments / UT Administrations is implementing Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Ministry against the funds allotted under each scheme. 

Review Meetings with Women and Child Development Departments of State Governments / UT Administrations are held to discuss the issues for effective implementation of the programmes and schemes of the Ministry. 

Government has approved Strengthening and Restructuring of Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme, the flagship programme of the Ministry, during 12th Five Year Plan. People’s representatives viz. 

Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly and Members of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) have been included in Monitoring Committees to make the mechanism participative and more transparent and to ensure effectiveness in the delivery of services in ICDS scheme. 

State / Regional level consultations are also held to discuss issues concerning implementation of schemes of the Ministry. The Central Sector Schemes of the Ministry, which have in built monitoring mechanism, are also periodically reviewed for their proper and better implementation. 

Details of funds earmarked and released to the States / Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) for implementation of various schemes for Women and Children and the progress made thereon are given in the Annual Reports of the respective years of the Ministry, which are available in the Library of Lok Sabha.

This was stated by Smt. Krishna Tirath, Minister for Women and Child Development, in a written reply to the Lok Sabha today.
