Central Government has assured to provide foodgrains as per the demands

Dehradun, New Delhi:
Central Government has assured to provide foodgrains as per the demands made by Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna. Mr. Bahuguna today called on Union Minister of State for Food and civil Supplies Prof. KV Thomas at Krishi Bhawan.
Talking on the issue of lack of storage facilities for the foodgrains allocated by the Centre in the state, Chief Minister Bahuguna said that the State would set up its own godowns, not totally relying on the FCI. Meanwhile, The Union Minister of State assured him of all possible assistance from the Centre. He said that the state governments could set up godowns under various subsidy program of the Central Government. On the request made by the Chief Minister to consider Census of 2011 while allocating the foodgrains, Mr. Thomas assured him to consider it. It may be noted that the Centre had already approved for the additional foodgrains to the state in view of Char Dham Yatra. On the issue of State Government's inability to collect foodgrains allocated by the Centre, Chief Minister Bahuguna assured the Union Minister of collecting the foodgrains.
